About Sure-Can

1989 – Where It Began
Sure-Can was founded in 1989 by Jim Lloyd and Keith Bonner in Wellingborough.
The business began modestly, operating from an old air raid shelter in Adam Builders Yard using traditional can-making machines acquired from Mackenzie & Tapp and Wallin Ltd.
From the very beginning, the focus was clear: craftsmanship, flexibility, and producing tins tailored to specific customer requirements.
1995 – Building Momentum
In 1995, Sure-Can relocated to a new unit at Adam Business Centre on the Telford Way Industrial Estate in Kettering.
This move supported continued growth, with the business developing bespoke tin products and delivering specialist projects for a diverse customer base, including contracts for the Ministry of Defence.
2001 – 2008 – Growth & Investment
In 2001, Sure-Can became a limited company, expanding into additional units and strengthening its management structure.
A management buyout in 2007/2008 marked a significant turning point, with Steve Lloyd appointed as lead director and part owner.
Under his leadership, the company invested heavily in modern can-making machinery, improved manufacturing processes, and more efficient business systems—laying the foundations for long-term growth.
2014 – 2015
As demand continued to grow, Sure-Can moved in 2014 to a larger 22,000 sq ft facility at 2 Henson Way, Kettering.
The purchase of the entire building in May 2015 secured a long-term base for the company, significantly increasing production capacity and supporting future expansion.
2021 – Strengthening The Future
In 2021, a final management buyout established sole ownership under Steve Lloyd, ensuring continuity, experience, and long-term stability for the business.
